Phishing Emails and Messages: How to Spot Them and Stay Safe

What is phishing?

Phishing is when someone pretends to be Dapper Labs or one of our products to try and steal your information. These messages may ask you to click a link, sign in, connect a wallet, or share account details.

Phishing can come through:

  • Email

  • Social media (Twitter/X, Discord, Instagram, etc.)

  • Text messages (SMS)

Common phishing tactics to watch for

Be cautious of messages that:

  • Offer free Moments or Packs

  • Ask you to connect an external wallet

  • Say your account will be locked or deleted if you don’t act fast

  • Include links you weren’t expecting

  • Come from unfamiliar or misspelled email addresses

Scammers often target collectors with:

  • Free Moments or Packs for NBA Top Shot

If you receive an email or message claiming you have a free pack, Moment, and asking you to click a link, but nothing appears in your account, this is often a sign of a phishing attempt and not a real reward.

Important: What we will never ask for

Dapper Labs will never ask you for:

  • Your password

  • Your recovery phrase

  • Your private keys

We will also never ask you to connect an external wallet through random links, DMs, or unofficial emails.

If you’re unsure about an offer, we always recommend reaching out to Support first before clicking anything or connecting a wallet.

Official Dapper Labs email addresses

We only send emails from the following addresses:

Always double-check the sender before clicking any links.

What to do if you receive a suspicious message

If you think a message may be phishing:

  1. Do not click any links

  2. Do not reply

  3. Do not share account information

  4. Report the message

You can help by forwarding suspicious emails to
phishingreport@meetdapper.com

This allows our security team to investigate and take action.

If you already clicked a link or shared information

If you may have interacted with a phishing message:

  • Change your password right away

  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) if it’s not already on

  • Contact our Support team as soon as possible

Tips to stay safe

  • Avoid clicking links from unfamiliar sources

  • Bookmark official Dapper Labs sites and use those to sign in

  • Enable two-factor authentication

  • Pause and double-check if something feels urgent or unexpected

When in doubt, it’s always better to stop and check first.
