What is The Rally?
NBA Top Shot's first community deposit match. The match rate isn't set at the start — it climbs as the entire collector community locks Moments together. Every Moment you purchase and lock pushes the public meter forward. As the community fills it, the rate goes up for everyone.
When does The Rally run?
The qualifying window opened Monday, May 18, 2026 at 12:00 AM Eastern. The window closes whichever comes first:
- The community locks $1,000,000 in qualifying Moments together
- The scheduled close at Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern
Is The Rally available on NFL ALL DAY?
No. The Rally is NBA Top Shot only.
The match rate
How does the match rate work?
Three rate tiers, two community-unlocked thresholds:

Does my rate change as the community fills the meter?
Yes — and it applies retroactively. When the community pushes the rate higher, your whole pool of qualifying spend in the window climbs with it. Not just the locks you make after the rate climb.
Example: if you lock at 5% on Day 1 and the community pushes the rate to 15% by close, every qualifying Moment you locked during the window pays at 15%.
What's the final rate?
The community tier we reach when the window closes determines the final rate that pays out across every qualifying lock. If the community lands between $100K and $500K, the final rate is 10% / 12% VIP. If the community locks $500K or more, the final rate is 15% / 20% VIP.
Can the rate go down?
No. Once a tier unlocks, the rate doesn't drop. The community can hold a tier or climb higher.
What counts as a qualifying lock
What's a qualifying lock?
A new deposit made during the window, used to collect a Moment, which is then locked. Your qualifying spend is the lesser of your new deposits and the value of the Moments you locked.
A qualifying deposit is made either in the form of a Dapper Balance deposit -OR- direct purchases of Moments and packs via credit card, Apple Pay or PayPal.
What's the minimum qualifying spend?
There are no minimums for this promotion.
Does pre-existing Dapper Balance count?
No. Only new deposits made during the qualifying window (May 18 12 AM ET onward) count. Spending from your existing balance doesn't qualify.
What about Moments I locked before the public announce on May 19th?
Any Moments you purchased and locked from Monday, May 18 at 12:00 AM Eastern onward are retroactively counted toward your qualifying spend AND toward the community meter.
Do packs count?
Yes — individual pack purchases qualify if you collect the pack during the window, open it, and lock all the contents. Cases and boxes are excluded.
Does marketplace activity count?
Yes. If you use new deposits to collect a Moment on the marketplace during the window and lock it, that qualifies.
What disqualifies a lock
What if I burn a Moment in a Trade-In Auction?
The Trade-In ends the lock state, so the Moment is voided from your qualifying spend and the Rally match on that Moment doesn't pay out.
What's the rule of thumb?
The lock has to hold from the moment you make it through the window close. If you take any action that breaks the lock state before close, you lose the qualifying spend that Moment represented.

What kind of credit do I get?
Non-withdrawable Dapper Balance.
When does the credit land?
The week of June 8, 2026.
Can I withdraw the credit?
No. The Rally match credit is non-withdrawable. It can be spent inside the platform but can't be cashed out or transferred to another account.
Where can I spend it?
NBA Top Shot marketplace, NBA Top Shot pack purchases, and any future drops on the platform.
Does the credit expire?
No expiry date. It sits in your Dapper Balance until you use it.
How the campaign ends
When does The Rally close?
Whichever comes first:
- The community locks $1,000,000 in qualifying Moments together → event closes immediately
- The scheduled close at June 7, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET → event closes at that time
What happens to locks made after the gate closes?
They earn nothing from The Rally. The match credit only applies to locks completed before the gate closes. Miss the gate, miss your share of the reward.
What if we don't hit $1M?
The Rally still closes on June 7 at the scheduled time. Everyone who locked qualifying Moments during the window qualifies at whichever community tier we reached.
Will I get warning before the gate closes?
We'll send email and Discord updates as the community approaches the $1M trigger, plus a "final stretch" warning when we're 24-72 hours out from projecting the close.

Your VIP status is visible on your account profile in NBA Top Shot.
What's the VIP rate?
VIP collectors earn a higher rate at every tier:
- Tier 1: 7% (vs 5% non-VIP)
- Tier 2: 12% (vs 10%)
- Tier 3: 20% (vs 15%)
How do I become VIP?
VIP status is based on your lifetime activity and spend on NBA Top Shot. Specifics are detailed on the VIP program page.
