What is The Lock-In?
The Lock-In is a limited-time NBA Top Shot promotion. When you fund your account with new deposits and use them to purchase and lock Moments during the window, we match a percentage of that spend back to you as Dapper Balance.
When does it run?
The Lock-In runs from Monday, June 22, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET through Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Rebates are distributed the week of July 6.
What's the match rate?
- VIPs earn 15% on qualifying spend, with no cap.
- Everyone else earns 10%, up to a maximum rebate of $1,000.
How do I qualify?
Three steps, all within the window:
- Make a new deposit during the window, or pay by credit/debit card.
- Purchase Moments on NBA Top Shot using those new funds.
- Lock those Moments and keep them locked through July 2, 11:59 PM ET.
We then match a percentage of your qualifying spend and add it to your Dapper Balance the week of July 6.
How is my rebate calculated?
Your qualifying spend is the lower of two numbers: the new deposits you made during the window, and the value of the Moments you purchased and locked during the window. Your rebate is that qualifying spend multiplied by your match rate (15% VIP, 10% everyone else).
Your rebate cannot exceed your qualifying deposit amount.
What counts as a "new deposit"?
Funds you add to your account during the window, either by depositing to your Dapper Balance or by paying directly with a credit/debit card during the window. Pre-existing Dapper Balance does not qualify. The match is designed to reward new funds coming onto the platform.
Do I have to both purchase and lock?
Yes. A Moment only qualifies if you both purchase it and lock it during the window. Moments you already owned do not qualify, even if you lock them during the window. The purchase and the lock both have to happen inside the window, using new deposits.
Do my Moments need to stay locked?
Yes. Qualifying Moments must remain locked through campaign close on July 2 at 11:59 PM ET. If a Moment is unlocked before then, it no longer counts toward your rebate.
What disqualifies a Moment from my rebate?
Before campaign close, if a Moment is any of the following, it is removed from your qualifying spend:
- Sold or transferred
- Burned (including Trade-In Auctions and craft burns)
- Redeemed through a Buyback
Keep your qualifying Moments purchased and locked, and leave them locked, through July 2.
Is there a minimum spend?
No. There is no minimum. You can participate at any level.
Is there a maximum?
Non-VIP rebates are capped at $1,000. VIP rebates are uncapped.
Do packs count?
Yes, if you open them and lock all the contents. The pack must be purchased with new deposits during the window, opened, and the Moments inside locked and kept locked through close. Boxes and cases are excluded.
When and how do I get my rebate?
Rebates are distributed the week of July 6, 2026 as non-withdrawable Dapper Balance. You'll see it in your account and can use it across NBA Top Shot right away.
Am I a VIP?
VIP status (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum) is based on your collecting history. If you're a VIP, you automatically earn the 15% rate. If you're not sure, you can reach out to support, but you'll earn at least the 10% rate either way.
Why didn't a purchase count toward my rebate?
The most common reasons:
- The purchase was funded by pre-existing Dapper Balance rather than new deposits made during the window.
- The Moment was purchased but not locked, or was unlocked, sold, burned, or redeemed before campaign close.
- The Moment was already owned before the window and locked during it (only purchased-and-locked Moments qualify).
- The item was a box or case, which are excluded.
